A day at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

A day at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

A couple of weeks ago we had the chance to stop by Epcot during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Much like the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival held each year in the fall, the Flower & Garden Festival gives guests a chance to wander around the World Showcase enjoying tastes, sips, sights and events that are exclusive to the festival. Having visited Walt Disney World–and more specifically, Epcot–several times during special events … Continue reading A day at the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

Where to find the best salads at Walt Disney World

I’ve got Disney on the brain.  I know what you’re thinking: what else is new?  Besides the fact that I recently returned from another trip, I have good reason to have Disney on the brain.  Tomorrow I will be getting up bright and early (so early that it will actually be dark and early, in fact) to drive to Phoenix for the Disney Social Media Moms on the Road Celebration.  I’ve never been to one … Continue reading Where to find the best salads at Walt Disney World

Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 7

Day seven brought an official close to a whirlwind tour of two of Europe’s most infamous cities.  There were still sights to see and experiences to savor before our goodbyes.  Come along with me for a glimpse. The day began when our group traveled to Notre Dame Cathedral.  Before we stepped off the coach, our French guide gave us a briefing on the pickpockets that hang around the area.  We were warned against people who … Continue reading Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 7

Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 6

On the itinerary for day six was a visit to Château de Versailles followed by a twilight walk to the Arc de Triomphe where we were invited to climb the 284 steps of a spiral staircase to reach the top. After breakfast, we boarded the coach and enjoyed the short, narrated journey to Versailles.  Versailles–for those of you who aren’t familiar with it–is a royal French estate that was first a hunting lodge built by … Continue reading Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 6

Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 5

Day five of our European adventure brought our time in the UK to a close.  Goodbyes are always hard, but this one was maybe just a smidge easier because we were off to the city of lights: Paris! The day began with breakfast at the beautiful Foxhills resort.  Breakfast each morning there was served buffet-style, but not the typical American buffet you might be picturing.  Among the offerings, there was always fresh fruit and dry … Continue reading Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 5

Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 4

Day four of our journey would be the last full day we spent in England.  After yet another sleepless night (thanks to a faulty fire alarm) we were up bright and early for the bus ride to Stonehenge.  Upon arrival, we were given headsets.  Visitors walked along a fairly narrow but even path in a circle around the ruins.  Along the way, there were several markers with numbers that corresponded to a recording on our … Continue reading Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 4

Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 3

Our third day in London began with a surprise visit to the infamous Abbey Road thoroughfare where the Beatles posed for their 1969 aptly named Abbey Road album cover photo.  I suspect it was to the dismay of several motorists (the road is still quite busy) that our large group attempted several recreations of aforementioned photo.  Here is the version Torri and I ended up with. After the Abbey Road stop our group headed from … Continue reading Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 3

Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 2

If you read about our rough start in London, you’ll be happy to hear that day two of our trip was much better.  As is family tradition, we began the day by taking a self-portrait in the hotel room before heading down for breakfast. Those jeans and jacket that Torri is wearing?  Both were purchases we made on Oxford Street the night before.  The good news is that Torri’s suitcase would indeed arrive at the … Continue reading Cities of Knights & Lights tour with Adventures by Disney – day 2
