One of the items at the top of my Christmas 2013 wish list was a Birchbox subscription. And wouldn’t you know that my sweet daughter played Santa and delivered big time? She did. I’ve received three boxes so far and indeed I have discovered some new favorite products. I thought I’d share those today.
stila lip glaze – I was sent stila’s ‘shortcake’ color to try and, to my surprise, I actually love it. I’m not a fan of pink shades when it comes to lipsticks and lip glosses and so when I saw that this was a soft pink color, I was disappointed. I went ahead and tried it on, though, and found that it looks much more like a nude on my lips. I love that it isn’t super sticky and gluey like some other glosses. It offers light moisturizing and a very flattering, sparkly bit of color.
Whish pomegranate body butter– Birchbox sent me a sample that is perfectly-sized for my purse and I’m loving it. It’s smooth but not watery and results in soft skin without the thick and greasy texture of other butters. Plus, it’s paraben free! I love the scent, too.
Paula’s Choice RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum – I remember when I didn’t have to worry about wrinkle creams. Sigh. Those were the days. Presently, I’m more conscious of making choices that will preserve my skin as best I can. I don’t think I’d ever resort to a needle, but I am all about antioxidant serums and this one is really good. You can actually feel it tightening when you put it on. I can’t speak to the long-term benefits just yet, but I have high hopes.
Benefit benetint lip & cheek stain – This stuff is awesome. I use it exclusively on my cheeks in place of powder or creme blush. I love that it looks as though the glow is coming from the inside. It goes on with a brush similar to that found in a nail polish bottle. It’s easy to apply and lasts all day.

I am such a man. I never even use lotion. I guess I will pay for that one day!
When we vacation in Orlando, I never use lotion either. Believe me when I tell you that if you lived here in the dry capital of the world, lathering up with as creamy a lotion you could find would not be optional ;)
