Food & Wine. You Had Me at Merlot.

Ah yes.  The Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.  One of my absolute favorite events evah.  For real.

I love all aspects of Walt Disney World.  You know I do.  I love it because I’ve always had just as much fun (if not more) there as my kids do.  I love it because we’ve made a ton of family memories there.  I love it because it is one of the few places where dreams really really do come true.

But, between you and me, the food and wine festival is one of my favorite parts.

If you’ve been then you know how fun it is.  And if you haven’t, then be sure to book during the right time next year would ya?

We love to cruise our way around the World Showcase and stop hither and yonder for itty bitty portions of adventurous, internationally-inspired foods.  Jeff rather enjoys the various beers offered while I, well, I don’t really have to tell you now do I?  You know me well enough to know what makes my heart go pitter patter (I mean besides Edward the vampire, duh).

It’s the wine.  It’s the ability to sip different wines from all over the world.  Red.  White.  Blush.  Sparkling.  Sweet.  Dry.  Sigh.

And they give them to you in those cute little cups.  It’s just irresistible really.

This year, during our food and wine adventures, we sported custom t-shirts.  Each one represented a different country.  And I thought it’d be fun for everyone to pose in his or her “own country.”  Based on the shirts of course.

We started in Mexico, and worked our way around the world.  By the time we got to Canada, clear on the other side, we’d knocked back a few.  Our inhibitions may or may not have been lowered a bit.  Which might explain why we gave Cassidy the camera and posed for a picture or two.  I saved those for last.  I hope you find them to be as amusing as I do.

So sit back.  Relax.  Take a stroll with us through the World Showcase.  It’s the next best thing to having been there yourself.

  1. I love them! I didn’t see these shirts before – they are great! You guys are so clever. Can you be hired out? I’d love some cool shirts for our next trip!

  2. I’m living vicariously through your Disney trip. Good times and love the tees. Will you do a post about your shirts? I loved the ones you did for the last trip too.

  3. Can’t wait to go to F&W soon! Great shirts and I am loving those last couple of pictures—looks like everyone had fun!

  4. Love it! Those last two are hysterical! As usual, the shirts are great! I can’t wait to do the F&W festival someday. Maybe Matt and I will just have to do a couples trip to partake some time in the future!

  5. Hi Darcie,

I try to catch your Disney with Darcie Show on Mom TV but lately have been missing it (falls at the same time as bedtime for my 1 yr old here in NYC). A while back i told u I was going with family from Arizona (you said u were from there too!) and asked u for your favorite disney hotel (on the property. I have mommy brain and forgot which ones you liked. Can u please tell me which hotels in each price category are your fave? we got a great deal for 40 percent off through my cousins Disney Chase card so we might book a hotel on the property. We have to book asap. Would it be too much trouble for u to give me your faves again? if its easier to email me, my email is oh and check out my blog, you might enjoy it.

    Thanks soo much.

P.S> your trip looked awesome. have to hit that food fest one day since food is my work and my life. lol

  6. I love it! The pictures are adorable, and the t-shirts were a perfect addition!

Why does Kennedy look like she’s not extremely happy to be posing in front of Japan??? And where oh where is JEFF’S DONKEY???

My favorite is the last one with Jeff holding you up – I mean, hugging you.

  7. I love the pictures & tshirts! The last two are priceless! We might have to book during this time our next trip! I loved going in September! Huge difference from May!

  8. Awesome shirts! I admire your creativity and marvel at how you find time for everything. You rock!

  9. Love the shirts…you are so creative! And I totally agree about F&W – it’s my favorite too!
