Last weekend, my daughter came home for a short visit. While she was here, we threw her a Neverland themed baby shower. The theme was fitting, considering that she spent a semester working as a Tinkerbell character performer in the Disney College Program. I will have more pictures to share from the shower soon, but in the meantime, I’m here today to share a glimpse at one of the decorations we made to add a bit of pixie dust–if you will–to her baby shower.
Aren’t these Peter Pan and Wendy silhouettes just the cutest thing?

They could not have been easier to make. Here’s what I needed:
- 2 photo frames (I used 5×7)
- Mod Podge
- a paintbrush
- glitter
- printed silhouette images
To make the framed silhouettes, I sized my images to 5×7’s and printed them in grayscale on two pieces of cardstock. From there, I used a paintbrush with a fine point and carefully painted on a thin layer of Mod Podge around the edges of my images. I painted only a small segment (about two inches or so) before stopping to sprinkle on a layer of glitter. Once the glitter had been sprinkled on, I shook off the excess and continued painting on the Mod Podge. Once the whole perimeter had been covered in ModPodge and glitter, I continued to the middle of the image, using the same technique.
After the entire silhouette was covered in glitter, I allowed the silhouettes to dry for six hours before I placed them in frames. Voilà. That was all there was to it.

So cute! I’m sure the shower was a smashing success.
