Gonna Be A Long Summer

headlesssnake

First rattlesnake spotting of the season.  And yes.  It is suspiciously missing a head.  Don’t ask.

  1. You know how we talked about being friends, if it weren’t for all these miles separating us? Let’s be hypothetical friends by my house, where there are no rattlesnakes, headless or otherwise, because that? Freaks me out!

  2. Tastes like chicken! Or so I hear.
Surprisingly, having lived on the edge of the desert in NM for almost a year, I have yet to see a rattlesnake in the flesh. Tarantulas is another story…

  3. Ew.

Haven’t seen any snakes here, yet. But it won’t be long. What freaks me out the most is finding their skins all over, because I know they’re there, but I don’t know where…

Hey, they keep the mouse population low.

  4. My first thought was “please tell me that wasn’t in the street by her house. But then Jeffs comment clued me in…

When you you aren’t traumatized any more, I want details.

  5. Egads! Anything creepy, crawly or slithery just wreaks havoc with my sanity.

How often do you see these creatures?

  6. Ok, I’ve got to ask. What happened to the head? We don’t have snakes in our area (well, maybe in the wild, but how often am I in the wild?!) so I’m intregued – and frightened for you!

  7. Yuck. The headless part makes it even more creepy.

We haven’t spotted any rattlers in our neighborhood yet. But it’s probably only a matter of time.
