You know that friend you can text when you need an You know that friend you can text when you need an answer to the most obscure question? When it comes to Disney trip planning, consider me your girl. In 2008, I had the honor of serving as one of the inaugural "Disney Moms" on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel. Over the years, that same panel has evolved into something bigger and better. Today, it's planDisney and I'm back online, answering some super fun questions about things like secret menus, meeting Mickey and where to find the best snacks. If you're wanting to stay close to home this year, but still looking for a sprinkle of vacation magic, click on over and explore away! https://plandisney.disney.go.com/
Sixteen years today and of this I am certain: fair Sixteen years today and of this I am certain: fairy tales aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. The most piercingly beautiful love stories are far more complex than happily ever after allows.

I think of the places we’ve been. Private verandahs at sea and tables with breathtaking views. Photos beside glacial lakes and campfire s’mores along deep red canyons. Cobblestone streets and foreign cafés and twinkly lights. But also: hospital waiting rooms and the stiff, unforgiving marriage counselor’s couch. Bended knees and closet tears and thick, unrelenting grief. We’ve waited for calls that never came and crumpled beneath the weight of a few others that did. Fear and dread and heartbreak. Joy and pride and gratitude. The beauty comes in living both, with muscle and grace to show for it.

Facing you—holding your hands while I read those vows—I would never have hoped for what we’ve had. Happily ever after sounds so much easier. But facing you now, here today, I know better. The Author of our story. His intricacies. Exceedingly and abundantly more than I have the audacity to dream.
We had a meeting with our builder yesterday! That We had a meeting with our builder yesterday! That exclamation point is misleading because there was nothing fun involved like choosing tile or anything like that. But even boring little steps like discussing perc test results seem like progress and help lighten the burden of what promises to be a very long process. How’s your week been?
I *think* we found a temporary house to live in wh I *think* we found a temporary house to live in while we wait for home. 😅 The hardest part about that process was finding an arrangement that could be somewhat flexible to accommodate our timing with the build. Thankfully, a sweet young couple nearby came through with a perfect solution for us! And new neighbors from down the street gave us a ton of once-used U-Haul moving boxes that are in great shape. ☁️➡️🌈😊
