My Gramps called me over the weekend and–among other things–he asked so when are you going to put up a new blog? And I told him hopefully this week and I fully intended to get down to business on Sunday but then we had to run to town for odds and ends and the day got away from me. Surprise!
I had good intentions. But this is all I’ve got:
1. Over the weekend we got a call from Jayce’s new t-ball coach and he says we need cleats and gray baseball pants and a royal blue belt. And I can’t help but wonder how much I’m going to have to fork out for extra wide baseball cleats. Is there any hope that Jayce will outgrow the whole extra wide thing? Because I’m so over it.
2. I totally clinched mom of the year award. My eyes popped open Saturday morning (like Bella’s in that final scene of Breaking Dawn part 1) and–just like that–I realized that the deadline had passed to register Kennedy for the high school we’ve chosen. Wish me luck because I’m going begging first thing Monday morning.
3. Not only that but also I neglected to pay the credit card balance in whole on the first of the month (which I NEVER forget to do) and unintentionally threw Cassidy’s full new bottle of prescription thyroid meds out with the empty bottle from last month. I was in tears on Saturday morning because I’m not normally so flighty. There’s a tiny me hollering from somewhere in the back of my own mind. {help!}
4. We {all but} finished the two rooms we’ve been hard at work on. After much running of errands. I think Cassidy’s woodland room ended up a bit chintzier than I’d like, but I’m outvoted. I’ll post pictures of the finished project and you can cast a vote.
5. On Sunday my friend, Dana, from high school, posted on my Facebook timeline and asked where I’ve been. And it occurred to me that my last several posts/photos have gone completely unacknowledged (which, admittedly, has left me feeling totally deflated) and that maybe the problem isn’t me but my privacy settings. I fixed it and Sunday night my iPhone was abuzz all the night long and I admit that my spirits were lifted. I was all Eeyore: thanks for noticin’.
Here is the inspiration {and centerpiece of} Kennedy’s new room. Whatdya think?
*Please ignore typos and the like. This is going up completely unedited. Cuz’ that’s how I roll.
You forgot to mention how great of a husband you have in this post… ;)
Oh goodness! Glad to see you’re here. I just remembered tonight(this morning) that gray has a dentist appt right when ivy has dance and well I’m going to have to figure that one out.
Steph
Glad to know there are others out there who have weeks like I do….however, my weeks like that happen every week! LOL. I don’t know how you do it with four….I only have three and I can barely keep my head above water some days (which explains my good intentions for blog posts that never get posted)! Have a great week.
Fun bright colors! Can’t wait to see the finished project. Hope this week will be better. Oh …. kudos for a great husband – that always makes things better!
Well, I still think you should do a blog about Tucson school teachers cursing etc. during class but maybe they did that when you were in school. So-big deal!
This blog? Verily Interesting!
Colors? The picture is very busy (as we in the home decorating business say)
My suggestion: buy the whole thing, including the sign, and leave the “20% off” sign in the final room decor. Then if someone remarks about the colors you can say “Well, I saved 20%”.
So what happened with registering Kennedy for high school? I love the quilt(?), and I love World Market. I’m looking forward to the pictures!
I am happy to report that Kennedy has been successfully registered for the high school of our choice! In the past they’ve had to do a lottery because demand exceeded enrollment space, but we got lucky this year. She’s good to go, and I am SO relieved.
PS. Wall art, not a quilt. But I love World Market too.
Go Darcie!!!
Welcome to my world, friend! I don’t know where the smart Becca has gone for the past few years. This Becca is absent-minded and always forgetting something…
I can’t wait to see photos of Cassidy’s new room!
Which school for Kennedy next year? I’m curious.
We’re almost for sure going to enroll K in the new VSD homeschool partnership program. Super excited about that opportunity.
I heard about the new homeschooling option. That sounds perfect for you guys! I’m curious to hear more about it. It’s not something I’m interested in personally, but I do think it sounds like such a great alternative for homeschooling-minded families.
I did get Kennedy successfully enrolled, in spite of my huge brain lapse. We’re excited!
