Portrait of a girl

Tucson child photographer | Darcie Maranich PhotographyIt doesn’t matter what I use to coax her–she doesn’t like pictures.  She looks down or off to the side.  I think if she could see my eyes I’d have a sliver of hope but she doesn’t know what to do with the reflective glass of an imposing lens.  She succumbs to the pressure.   She squeezes her eyes shut tight, sticks out her tongue.

There were just a few minutes before the bus would come.  Just she and I at home.  I snuck in through the bathroom that connects her room to her sister’s.  I surprised her.

It was a lucky shot.  Not perfect, but lucky nonetheless.
